No, I didn't come to Japan to get as far away from NJ as possible! I am married, and my wife and I have one child, a little girl. We are raising her to be bilingual and bicultural (so far, so good!) The three of us live together with our 19 year-old cat in a 200 year-old Japanese farmhouse. When I tell Japanese people about the type of house we live in, their reaction is always the same: "Oh, it must be so nice and cool in the summer time." I invariably reply, "It's nice and cool all year round!" Actually, it's like camping, but I love it anyway!
